Is Choosing the Right Career Important

As teenagers, we have lots of vague ideas in our mind to decide a career and a few of us match our dreams with reality. Why only a few of us lands with the career that we dream of?

Following your passion needs a strong mindset and willpower. There are always two roads to career, one that includes your passion and second what others want you to be passionate about. Success only comes when you are perseverant, hard-working and love what you do.

We face a lot of ups and downs and challenges while choosing our career. Taking advice from our parents and guides will surely guided us towards the right track. It would be wise if you introspect yourself, take your strengths into account and pick the career that ignites the excitement in you to work. Hence, choosing a career might be an overwhelming task but you need to take this decision wisely.

Stream selection is one of the most daunting tasks as many a times we are still exploring. The Indian education system provides four broad streams PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths), PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Commerce, and Humanities. Some of the Career opportunities unlocked by them are:

1) PCM – Engineering, Defense Services, Commercial Pilot, Research, etc.

2) PCB – Medicine, Nursing, Food technology, Biotechnology, Research, etc.

3) Commerce – Management, Banking, Charted Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), etc.

4) Humanities – Mass Communication, Journalism, Performing arts, Social work, Law, Hotel Management, Designing courses, Film/Television courses, etc.

Besides all of the above, ample of different career opportunities have come into existence which will surely match your interest. For example, some of us love to travel and explore, so, a career in Travel and Tourism might be the right choice. If you love History or Geography there is lot of scope in Archaeology and Geology respectively. Or let’s say you have a passion in Sports, go ahead and pursue a carrier in the sport you love. Whatever you do, plan and evaluate your interest honestly as it is going to be the most important decision of your life.

Above all, never lose hope, motivate yourself by doing whatever makes you happy.  There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life.
